Media enter Indian outsourcing fray

TAfter IT companies, banking, call centers and medical transcription, outsourcing in India enters the arena of publishing. India is already attracting the attention of the world media— recent industry analyses show that the publishing industries in the UK and US intend to outsource non-core and core functions to achieve cost cutting. Reuters has already opened a data and news gathering operation in Bangalore in 2004. Globally, outsourcing of content and other services in the publishing industry is deemed at $2.5 billion.
