Indian outsourcing in healthcare hits all-time high

Outsourcing of healthcare to India is on an upward swing, with prospects only getting better in the near future. BPO service provider Zavata India's recent $80 million contract with four major U.S.-based hospitals is only one of the many examples testifying to the booming healthcare BPO sector in India. More than half of the U.S. hospitals are directly or indirectly outsourcing various components of healthcare to India, with revenues in 2006 amounting to $125 million. This figure is expected to triple by 2011.
