India largest outsourcing consumer in Asia

India is the biggest consumer of outsourcing services in the Asia Pacific region. According to sourcing consultancy firm Technology Partners International Inc. (TPI), India is way ahead of countries like Japan, China, and Australia with outsourcing contracts worth $1.7 billion, accounting for almost a third of contracts awarded in the Asia Pacific. The demand for outsourcing in India comes mainly from the country's thriving telecommunications industry.
