The Indo-American Chamber of Commerce (IACC) is seeking a single-window clearance system and simpler rules for granting work permits to expatriates, in the wake of severe skills shortages in some sectors. An IACC study points out that India needs to initiate a global hunt for talent to meet the innumerable jobs being generated every year. Among the BRIC economies, India is generating the maximum number of jobs every year and, in particular, the Indian BPO, pharmaceuticals and technology sectors will need substantial manpower over the next few years.
